In my opinion, these two movies have thoroughly original stories. Though I much prefer "Dual Matrix" over "Poly Matrix", they are both good movies to watch. There are some dramatic differences between the two though. Poly Matrix is more anime-style animation, but in my opinion, Dual Matrix has better graphics and a better plot. Poly Matrix is the prequel, though it's not necessary to watch before watching DM. I like DM better because you can watch it in Japanese with subtitles. That is my preferred anime watching style and PM doesn't let you do that.

Both movies have a lot of action in them. There's nothing better than when a robot fights two copies of herself is there? But there is! It's when all her skin melts off and she goes super-robo, all to protect her family. That's sweet isn't it?

The music in Dual Matrix is good too. It's mostly techno-ish stuff, no lyrics or anything, but it's still good. All in all, watch the movie, you'll be glad you did. You can watch it over and over again and not get bored of it.

DVD Case Summary
22nd century. Mars has been colonized by Earth for a hundred years, and populated by immigrants from Earth as well as "Second type" robots. Mars had been a struggling for independence from eh Earth government's control, but the Earth Federation kept sending more immigrants. These immigrants easily outnumbered the native Martians, due to their critically low birthrate. To help generate more patriotic and loyal native population, the Martian Government engaged in a secret "Third Type" robot project to develop life-like robots capable of breeding with humans. This was seen as a threat to Earth supporters, and the attempt was aborted when a new treaty with the Earth Federation led to the project being hushed up and sealed forever - or so it seems. However, while the project was canceled on Mars, Demetrio Mardini, an Earth Robot Union executive, tried to re-create the "Thirds" on Earth, but this time, the humanoid robots are being made to fulfill his own vicious ambitions.
