Kite's another one of those 45 minute films, I believe it actually was a full-length movie in Japan, but when brough to America they had to cut the "hentai" scenes for it to be available to a wider part of the population. They did release a "Director's Cut" though, which I've also seen, that also left about 5 minutes of the actual movie out. Even the 45 minute version held the story together well though, you just don't really know the part about her being his sex slave as well.
Even though they do hint at it in the shortened one.
I really liked the animation style in this film, it looks like they took the time to make almost every scene as detailed as they could. Everything's nicely drawn and has very distinct shading. Sawa has a very innocent look, so it's only ironic that she's an assassin, I think it's cool though. Not to mention her awesome gun, she carries a briefcase around, and when she pushes something on the handle, the side of the case opens, and her weapon flies out into her hand. It's kind of an un-needed accesory, why can't she just reach in her briefcase and grab the gun?
For a short movie, they still got a really good story fit in, and although not an entirely original story (Highschool girl with a secret life type-of-thing), this still kept me entertained through the whole thing. It definately has good replay value too for whenever you're feeling froggy and want to see some chick kicking eveyone's ass with a very cool gun. Not to mention her friend who shoots some kid's basketball. Before you buy it though, go rent it to see if it's your kind of flick or not.
